I create memorable and accessible learning experiences, so that learners will better retain information and apply their newfound knowledge and skills to practical situations.
As an instructor and course designer, I have developed nearly all of my own instructional materials, assessments, and activities, in accordance with the frameworks of Bloom’s Taxonomy and Backward Design. I know how to balance PowerPoint-based lectures, learner-led discussions, and interactive games to keep learners focused and promote better knowledge retention. I have used the ADDIE model to assess and revamp activities and assessments to better align with the course objectives. And I have converted face-to-face instruction to a completely asynchronous online environment.
As a theatre director, I specialize in capturing an audience's attention with clear storytelling and a cohesive artistic vision. I have found significant overlap between my directing style, my teaching style, and the principles of Gagne’s Nine Events of Learning. I want learning to feel like an “event,” in much the same way a theatrical production does.
As a producer and project manager - in theatre and podcasting - I collaborate with other artists to build a unique and aesthetically pleasing experience for an audience by a pre-determined deadline. And I excel at maintaining communication with project stakeholders and keeping projects on schedule, under budget, and within scope.
